Read these rules before you buy or sell — they protect you from fraud and protect the animals.
Safe trading
- Never pay before seeing the animal in person.
- Meet in a public place, preferably in daylight.
- Avoid advance deposits, token money, or wallet transfers to strangers.
- Always ask for vaccination cards and health records.
- Unusually low prices are usually a scam.
Animal welfare rules
- Selling underage animals (puppies/kittens under 8 weeks) is not allowed.
- Disclose sick, injured, or pregnant animals clearly.
- Listings for animal fighting or cruelty are strictly banned.
- Humane transport with ventilation and water is required.
Prohibited animals
- Wildlife and protected species: leopards, bears, deer, owls, falcons and other raptors.
- Venomous snakes and illegally imported animals.
- Any species protected under CITES or provincial wildlife acts.
